Mrs. Druella Brooks Tolbert

Druella Brooks Tolbert of Terrell, Texas, was born February 2, 1940 to the parentage of Pharisee and Clara Brooks in Kaufman County, Texas. She made her departure from earth to heaven peacefully on July 23, 2021 at Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She was tenderly rendered care by the doctors and nurses in the Seasons Hospice Unit until her transition.

Druella attended schools in Kaufman County and also attended Burnett High School. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she accepted Christ in her early life. Druella joined the Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church after being united in marriage. She was a faithful member until having to render care for her husband and until afterwards when her health failed. Throughout her membership at Union Valley she sand in the choir for numerous years, served on the kitchen committee and the mission. She was the President of the Mission Society for many years.

Druella married Richard Lee Tolbert, Sr. on the 5th day of October in the year of 1957. To their union five children were born. She was a devoted wife and mother for more than 63 years. She was a loving sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, & mother in-law. She was also loved by many in the community.

Druella obtained a license in Cosmetology at an early age which carried her through a lifetime. She worked in several local beauty salons including Taylor’s Tonsorial the first female owned barber shop in Terrell, Jerry’s, and Barbara’ Beauty Salon. She was employed at Waylon’s Hair Fashions in Terrell for over 40 years until retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pharisee and Clara Brooks; one daughter, Cynthia Tolbert, one great-granddaughter, Jersey Kennedy, one grandson, Rashard Hornage, one brother, L.C. Brooks, and two sisters, Curley Baker and Ollie Johnson.

Druella’s leaves to cherish and honor her memories her husband, Richard Lee Tolbert, Sr.; four children, Sheron Hornage, Beverly Preston of Terrell, Texas, Richard Lee Tolbert, Jr. of Forney, Texas, and Allette Carr of Pflugerville, Texas; Three son-in-laws, Rev. Larry Hornage, Pastor Jonathan L. Preston, and Michael Carr; one daughter in-law, Ronda Tolbert; ten grandchildren, Tausha Ellis (Casper), Charressa Kennedy (Kenoy), Bethany Hartfield, Jessica Tolbert, Jeremy Preston (Robin), Zachary Preston, Ashle Tolbert, Alyssa Tolbert, Alexander Carr, and Kailah Carr; twelve great-grandchildren; five sisters, Eula Carey, Alberta Gipson (Lawrence), Virginia Clemons, Lavonne Henderson (Charles), Vera Shaw, and Vital Marie Boyce (Charles); two brothers, Pharissee Brooks, Jr., Sylvester Brooks and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Wayne Moore Sr.

Wayne Moore Sr. of Terrell, TX. Was born to the parentage of Maurice Moore and Willene Gibson on October 30,1950 in Rockwall, TX. He departed this life peacefully on Thursday, July 15,2021 surrounded by family and friends.
Wayne was a proud graduate of Rockwall High School. He accepted Christ at an early age. Wayne was employed at Fuji Color Processing Lab for many years. He obtained his barber license and worked as a barber at Morrow’s Barbershop where he was well known around the town for his contagious smile and good conversation.
He married the love of this life Lottie Mae Williams in 1980. Their love, lives and families were intertwined, and they were united for 38 years until the death of Lottie in 2018.


He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lottie Moore, his parents, Maurice Moore and Willene Gibson, one brother, Jamie Lee, and three sisters, Diane Jackson, Sheila Elaine, and Susie Wright.


He leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Wayne Moore Jr. (Gwendolyn) of Denton, TX, Desmond Ross of Terrell, TX, and Sheky Greer (Starr) of Kansas City, MO, two daughters, Sonya Gentry (Eric) of Forney, TX, and Stephanie Crutchfield (Wayne) of Richardson, TX.; 15 grandchildren; Madison Moore, Jeremiah Moore, Jayda Fullbright, LaKayla Gentry, Jacobi Austin, Destiny Ross, Trinity Ross, Demyriah Ross, Desarae Ross, Desmond Ross Jr., Aysha Crutchfield, Johnathan Crutchfield, Gabriela Greer, Autumn Greer, and Victoria Greer; 1 great grandchild, Cayden Stokely; 1 sister, Karen Gibson of Royce City, TX. and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Ms. Anita Bryant Thompson

Anita Bryant Thompson was born September 2, 1933 in Terrell, Texas to the late Arzie and Louise Gray Bryant. She attended the Burnett High School class of 1952. She united with the New Hope BC at an early age. In 1959 she moved to Dallas and united with the New Friendship BC under the leadership of Rev. G.T. Thomas. She remained at New Friendship until her death under the leadership of Rev. Johnny McGee, Sr. She was employed by Texas Meat Company, Patterson Brother Meat Company and Sky Chef of American Airlines until she retired in 1972. She was united in marriage in 1966 to Robert Thompson and to this union no children were born.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, one son, Ulysses Jefferson, Jr. and husband Robert Thompson.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Oletha Morrow of Terrell, and a host of other relatives and Friends.

Mr. Newton a resident in Terrell, Texas on June 24, 2021.  Phillip was born in Beattyville, Kentucky on September 25, 1962.  He leaves to cherish his memories, son Cody Newton, sisters, brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.

Stephen Kenneth Larkin

Stephen Kenneth Larkin, 73, of Terrell, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 1,1947, to the parents of Kenneth and Lois Larkin.

Steve was smart, industrious, and adventurous and loved to learn, seeking knowledge constantly. He was an entrepreneur and excellent businessman who had many successful businesses throughout his lifetime and loved to build for the future and improve everything around him.

Steve was survived by his love, Sue Bowland, her daughter Kim Dion, her son and daughter-in-law Mike and Sherry Bowman and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Donnie Larkin, Mark Larkin and wife Wendi, his sister Fran Leddy and husband Chuck, his step brothers Jim Fields and wife Debe and Steve Fields and wife Rhonda, and his stepsister Billie Johnson and husband Steve, as well as a host of nieces and nephews and other family who love him dearly.

Ms. Pansy Lee Davis

Pansy Lee Davis was born to the parentage of the late Valley Davis and
Millie Washington – Davis on January 28, 1923, in Terrell, Texas. Her
parents, 9 sisters and 1 brother preceded her in death.

She attended Kaufman County School District. After 25 years of
service she retired from National Linen. She accepted Christ at a
young age and in her retirement, years fellowshipped under the
guidance of Mt. Hebron Baptist Victory Faith Center Church. Pansy
loved children and gave birth to 7 of her own. One son, Charles Davis
and one daughter, Margret Davis preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Millie Dotie,
James Davis, Sr. (Erma), Lavenia Davis, Calvin Davis, May Davis,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sis. Maxine Bryant Johnson

Mother Maxine Bryant Johnson was born on February 8, 1937 in Garrison,
Texas to the parentage of Bennie and Louise Bryant. Mother Johnson
accepted Christ at an early age and remained a faithful servant of
Chosen Generation COGIC until her death. Maxine was educated through
the Garrison ISD.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, daughter,
Carolyn, and son, Curtis.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, husband, Grady Johnson; 8
children, Diane Johnson (Dennis), Larry Johnson (Yolonda), Ricky
Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Norman Johnson, Markethius Johnson,
Kathy Johnson, and Monique Corsey (Dameon); two brothers, Herman
Bryant and Vasser Mitchell; one daughter in law, Vickie Johnson; 15
grandchildren, 29 great grand children, 2 great-great grandchildren;

Mr. Rashard Vondell Hornage

“An Amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, brother n love and
most of All a True Friend”

On Saturday, May 1, 1982, Rashard Vondell Hornage was born to the
parentage of Larry and Sheron Tolbert Hornage in Terrell, TX.

He graduated from Terrell High School in 2000. He then furthered his
education at the Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX. He
graduated from DeVry University with his Bachelor of Arts in Science.
Rashard worked for the AutoZone Distribution Center. He then
relocated to Houston, TX where he was employed by All State Insurance
Company until his death.

Rashard was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Terrell, TX.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age under
the leadership of Rev. B.W. McClendon, Sr. and later served under the
leadership of Rev. R.E. Rollerson, Jr. Rashard was an active member
of the Voices of Praise Choir and the Sanctuary Choir.

Rahsard love his dear dear’s dressing, his aunt Kathy’s banana pudding
and cakes, and must have his mama’s Salmon Croquettes. He enjoyed all
types of music, especially gospel. Some of his favorites were Lalah
Hathaway, Kim Burrell, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and Daryl Coley. Oh!!
Pie Joe, Our family weatherman you are so loved and will be greatly
missed.

Rashard, as affectionately known as Pie Joe leaves to cherish his
memory and celebrate his life, Father and Mother, Rev. Larry and

Mr. Michael Brown

Michael Wayne Brown was born February 13, 1972 in Terrell, Texas to the parentage of the late Jannie Ann Brown and William Greer. He graduated from Terrell High school in the class of 1990.  He attended Tyler Junior College in Tyler, TX. He was employed by Bass Ruthledge Drug Pharmacy.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where he was apart of the Junior and Sanctuary choirs under the leadership of Rev. B.W. McClendon, Jr. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jannie Ann Brown, grandparents, Roscoe & Ima Gene Brown, three uncles, Ervin Ray Brown, Lawrence Brown, and Ronald Ray Brown, one aunt, Emma Gene Jackson.

He leaves to treasure his memory two brothers, Jerry Don Brown, and Weldon Ray Turner of Terrell; three nieces, Arrin Brown, Stephanie Brown, and Skylar Brown; a great nephew, Noah Johnson, and a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

Mr. Rodger Nickerson

Mr. Roger Lee Nickerson was born on October 12, 1958 to the parentage of the Archie Nickerson and Lois Nickerson.  He attended Terrell High School with the class of 1977.  He graduated from East Texas State University where he pledged Kappa Alpha PSI Fraternity Inc.  He retired from Maddix where he retired after many years.

Roger was preceded in death by his dad, Archie Nickerson, mom, Lois Nickerson, sisters, Regina Nickerson ,and Vickie Nickerson.
