Bro. Terry Lynn Jackson was born to the parentage of Adolph And Dollie Mae Jackson on July 10, 1959. He attended Terrell public schools. He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age. He was employed by New Boston Concrete, Inc.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Hope D. Jackson; son, Terry Haynes Jr.; daughter, Artesha Turner and six grandchildren. Three sisters, two brothers, best friend Ricky Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Charles L. Henderson

Deacon Charles L. Henderson made his transition March 13, 2022 peacefully surrounded by his loving family. The Lord called home a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, and dear friend. He was a faithful servant of God from his youth until adulthood. Charles was born in Terrell, Texas on November 5, 1934 to parents Turner Henderson and Lula (Tennyson) Henderson. He graduated from Burnett
High School class of 1953. Charles was gainfully and happily employed with Safeway for 25 years, and Terrell ISD for over 10 years. Brother Charles was also employed at Madex for a number of years.

Deacon Charles married the love of his life, his loving wife, Lyvonne (Brooks) Henderson, and enjoyed 64 blissful years of marriage. To this union 10 children were born.

Mrs. Cherlinda Sims, born on March 19, 1958 in St. Louis, Mo and entered into eternal rest on February 20, 2022 in Mesquite, Texas. The Hope Community Church of god in Christ, Dallas, Tx is saddened to announce the passing of their Pastor’s Mother. Mr. James Dwayne Heckard

James Dwayne Heckard was born February 28, 1949 in Terrell, Texas to the late Jere Yvonne Heckard and James Heckard. He attended school in Terrell, TX. After graduating he went to truck driving school.


He had a great personality and was loved by many. Mr. Heckard was known by many. At an early age he accepted Christ at Southern Crest Baptist Church, Dallas, TX. He loved to sing, he was a member of the Southern Crest choir.


Mr. Heckard departed this life on Friday, February 4, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jere Yvonne Heckard and James Heckard, Brothers, Sonny Hicks and Gregory Heckard, Sister, Ester L. Heckard.


Mr. Heckard leaves to cherish his memory: brothers, Donald Heckard (Ann), Bruce Heckard (V’Andrea), Talley Talley, Elder Ronnie Holliness (Magaret); sisters, Vickie Heckard and Bridget Moody; aunts, Vesta Heckard Knox of San Antonio, TX, Rev. Rev. Napoleon Denson was born April 28, 1931 in Terrell to the parents of Robert and Florence Denson and attended Terrell public schools.

He worshiped and preached God’s Word at numerous churches in Terrell. He retired from preaching at Mt. Calvary BC of Terrell.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie Denson, daughters Brittney, Vanessa, & Sharon Denson. Sons Eric and Chris Denson. He also leaves behind a baby sister Shirely Gipson and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ms. Roslyn Alice Duplessis

Ms. Roslyn Duplessis born on July 25, 1957 in New Orleans Orleans Parish. Ms. Duplessis moved and lived in Terrell, Texas until she died on December 7, 2021 in her residence. Ms. Duplessis leaves to cherish her memories, children and a host of other relatives and friends.


Memorial Services were held on December 18th in New Orleans.

Mrs. Thelma Jean Lee

Thelma Jean (Scott) Lee was born to the late Alexander and Jimmie Lee Scott in Crandall, Texas. She moved to Terrell with her family at an early age and became a member of the United COGIC. She attended and graduated from Terrell ISD.

She met and married the love of her life, Charles Ray Lee, Sr. on February 10, 1967, and to this union five children were born. She reared two grandchildren of which one preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 54 years, Charles Ray Lee, Sr.; two sons, Charles Ray Lee, Jr., (Felicia Lee) and Paul Ray Lee; three daughters, Regina Session, Wanda Lee, and Santana Lee Jacobs (Brandon Jacobs); a reared granddaughter, Marquita Dorn (Marquis Holloman, Sr.); eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two sisters, three brother, a God sister, Gwendalyn Gilbert; special cousin, Shirley Nathan; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Mr. James E. Hall, Sr.

Mr. James Edward Hall Sr. was born on August 16, 1948, in Seagoville, Texas to the parentage of Ernest and C.B. Hall. James received his education through Henderson Co. Jr. College and Burnett School system and was a member of the graduating class 1967. James accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Terrell, Tx. After his marriage to Belinda Bowman Hall, he united with St. Luke CME Church under the leadership of Rev. John P. Brown, where he remained until his transition.

James was drafted into the military services in February 1968 and actively served in the Marine Corps Reserve until being honorably discharged in February 1970 as a SupCo, ProServ, 5th ME8 While serving he received the following commendations: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2*, Rifle Marksman Badge and Good Conduct Medal. Upon completion of active-duty status, James continued his military career in the Texas National Guard for the next 20 years, thus retiring in 1994 as Transportation Supervisor, 1st SG-E7. During his tenure in the Texas National Guard, he received the Armed Forces Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Driver/Mechanic Badge, and the Texas Faithful Service Medal. James was truly a Soldier as he was proud to say: I WAS A SOLDIER, I AM A SOLDIER, I WILL ALWAYS BE A SOLDIER. James work history included Department of Human Services and Paslodes.

James was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
He leaves to treasure his wonderful memory, wife, Belinda Hall; four children, Charlotte Hall, Diondra Adway (Michael), Whitney Hall, and James Edward Hall Jr. (Keshona Hall); one brother Charlie Hall, and three sisters, Rosie Davis (Mervin), Gertis Sears (James), and Georgia Brumley; six grandchildren, Jayden Hall, Ja’Kyri Adway, Jace Hall, ShaKyla Hall, Jacwa Hall, Jaheam Amos; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

We Love you more than you will ever know, but when GOD called your name, we had to let go, Spread your wings & fly away, and we will see you again someday.
