Reginald “Reg” Wayne Pegram, son of the late Willie Pegram, Sr. and Fannie Roberson Pegram, was born on August 24, 1956 in Terrell, TX. Reg accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church as a child. He attended the public schools of Terrell ISD where he graduated in 1974. He was a student athlete during this time and played basketball and football. He attended Henderson County Junior College briefly on a football scholarship, followed by Abilene Christian College. He then attended and graduated from Prairie View A&M University.
Reg was united in holy matrimony to Cynthia “Gail” Pegram in June of 1980. A love story that her mother, Dorothy, set into motion. Reg and Gail settled in Terrell and were members of Bethlehem Baptist Church under the guidance of Reverend Richard E. Rollerson.
Reg served as a police officer for the Dallas Police Department for 27 years. He was also a very active member of his community. He faithfully served his community through his volunteer work with the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, Terrell Economic Development Committee, Renaissance Club, Terrell Parks Board, and the Terrell ISD School Board. His goal was to help to make Terrell a desirable place for people to want to live. Reg was also a member of the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame.
Reg was a very kind and loving man that had a servant’s heart and wanted people to know the goodness of God. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help others in any way that he could. He also loved to laugh and spend time with his family.
Reg was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Fannie Pegram.

My sincere condolences to the Pegram family. I lived next door to Wayne on Park St, he was always polite, friendly and smiling, always an excellent example of a good person . Ron and I were classmates as well. May the family be overwhelmed with comfort compassion strength and peace that only God can provide. ππΎ

I met Reg at Hard Bodies Gym about 5 yrs ago! I knew right away he was a child of God! We had a great friendship and I enjoyed getting to know him and getting to learn from him. He was an amzing person and we always talked about things from “bavk in the day” when we grew up! He was the kind of person that you felt like you hsd known forever! I’m better man and child of God from knowing Reg! May He rear in peace until we see each other again! Not good bye, but see you later my friend! He was such a great guy! I feel blessed for God allowing our paths to cross, if only for a short while!
