Mr. James “Boxhead” Richardson, Jr.

James Richardson, Jr. was affectionately known as “Boxhead”. James was born February 8, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana. James departed this life on July 2, 2023, at home surrounded by family and several longtime friends.

James, along with his parents and siblings moved to Terrell, Texas in 1963. He graduated from W.H. Burnett High School in 1966. James married his high school sweetheart Jo Lucille Hardin Richardson in June of 1968. To this union,
two children were born: Derrick and Detric. Also, in 1968 he was drafted into the United States Army where he completed basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana and was stationed for almost 2 years at US Army Base Garrison (USAG) Schweinfurt, Germany. He returned to the states and served 4 years in the National Guard Reserve.

He leaves to cherish his memories, wife Jo Lucille of 55 years; his children, Derrick, Detric; his treasured dog Patrick; grandchildren Chesani Howard, Devonte Emory, Dejaniri Sharp, Detrianna and Kanodrick Richardson; 5 great grands, brothers Adam (Sandra), Leroy (Brenda), Lonzo and sisters Betty Richardson Lyons, Ida P. Edwards (Robert),
Ruthie Richardson-Robinson, Tonya Richardson Dean (Rodney); and host of relatives and friends.
