Sis. Maxine Bryant Johnson

Mother Maxine Bryant Johnson was born on February 8, 1937 in Garrison,
Texas to the parentage of Bennie and Louise Bryant. Mother Johnson
accepted Christ at an early age and remained a faithful servant of
Chosen Generation COGIC until her death. Maxine was educated through
the Garrison ISD.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, daughter,
Carolyn, and son, Curtis.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, husband, Grady Johnson; 8
children, Diane Johnson (Dennis), Larry Johnson (Yolonda), Ricky
Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Norman Johnson, Markethius Johnson,
Kathy Johnson, and Monique Corsey (Dameon); two brothers, Herman
Bryant and Vasser Mitchell; one daughter in law, Vickie Johnson; 15
grandchildren, 29 great grand children, 2 great-great grandchildren;
special friends, Sandra Paul and Earl Ross; God daughter, Jasmine
McElroy, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

We Love you more than you will ever know, but when GOD called your
name we had to let go. Spread your wings & fly away, and we will see
you again someday.

Mr. Rashard Vondell Hornage

“An Amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, brother n love and
most of All a True Friend”

On Saturday, May 1, 1982, Rashard Vondell Hornage was born to the
parentage of Larry and Sheron Tolbert Hornage in Terrell, TX.

He graduated from Terrell High School in 2000. He then furthered his
education at the Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX. He
graduated from DeVry University with his Bachelor of Arts in Science.
Rashard worked for the AutoZone Distribution Center. He then
relocated to Houston, TX where he was employed by All State Insurance
Company until his death.

Rashard was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Terrell, TX.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age under
the leadership of Rev. B.W. McClendon, Sr. and later served under the
leadership of Rev. R.E. Rollerson, Jr. Rashard was an active member
of the Voices of Praise Choir and the Sanctuary Choir.

Rahsard love his dear dear’s dressing, his aunt Kathy’s banana pudding
and cakes, and must have his mama’s Salmon Croquettes. He enjoyed all
types of music, especially gospel. Some of his favorites were Lalah
Hathaway, Kim Burrell, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and Daryl Coley. Oh!!
Pie Joe, Our family weatherman you are so loved and will be greatly
missed.

Rashard, as affectionately known as Pie Joe leaves to cherish his
memory and celebrate his life, Father and Mother, Rev. Larry and
Sheron Hornage; sisters and brothers in love, Tausha & Casper Ellis,
Charressa & Kenoy Kennedy, Angela Sweat Emory and family; 3 nephews
and 2 nieces, Caleb, Kimber Ellis, Ky, Tyce and Journey Kennedy;
grandparents, Richard and Druella Tolbert, Sr., and Muggy Hornage;

Mr. Michael Brown

Michael Wayne Brown was born February 13, 1972 in Terrell, Texas to the parentage of the late Jannie Ann Brown and William Greer. He graduated from Terrell High school in the class of 1990.  He attended Tyler Junior College in Tyler, TX. He was employed by Bass Ruthledge Drug Pharmacy.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where he was apart of the Junior and Sanctuary choirs under the leadership of Rev. B.W. McClendon, Jr. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jannie Ann Brown, grandparents, Roscoe & Ima Gene Brown, three uncles, Ervin Ray Brown, Lawrence Brown, and Ronald Ray Brown, one aunt, Emma Gene Jackson.

He leaves to treasure his memory two brothers, Jerry Don Brown, and Weldon Ray Turner of Terrell; three nieces, Arrin Brown, Stephanie Brown, and Skylar Brown; a great nephew, Noah Johnson, and a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

Mr. Rodger Nickerson

Mr. Roger Lee Nickerson was born on October 12, 1958 to the parentage of the Archie Nickerson and Lois Nickerson.  He attended Terrell High School with the class of 1977.  He graduated from East Texas State University where he pledged Kappa Alpha PSI Fraternity Inc.  He retired from Maddix where he retired after many years.

Roger was preceded in death by his dad, Archie Nickerson, mom, Lois Nickerson, sisters, Regina Nickerson ,and Vickie Nickerson.

Roger leaves behind his better half for over 45 years, Carol Martin; 3 children, Yurika Martin, Chadwick Martin, and Sheldon Martin; 6 grand children, Tamoria Martin, Dalton Martin (Buck), Jullion Williams-Martin (JuJu), Ayssa Martin (Tiffany), Zariah Robinson, and Khadija Young; oldest living uncles, Cubie Nickerson, and Roosevelt Nickerson, Sr.; Oldest aunt, Marie Wilcots; sisters, Loretta Mauldin, Elaine Nickerson, Beanna Busby (Reginald), Sandra Thomas (Bertriam); brother, Archie Nickerson, nieces, Calandrea Nickerson, Kiana Thomas, Stephen Mauldin, Brodrick Nickerson; special friends, Richard Rockwell, Oscar Hinchen, and a host of great nieces and  great nephews relatives and  friends.  

Services will be held Sat, May 8, 2021 at the Mt. Olive BC 12:00 PM.

Mr. Samuel Clyde Tumey Jr.

On Friday, April 9, 2021, Samuel Clyde Tumey Jr. was called home to be with our Lord at the age of 81.  Sam was born to Samuel Clyde Tumey Sr. and Florence Lee Blackmon on September 18, 1939 in San Antonio, TX. Sam accomplished great things in his life. In 1958, at the age of 17,  Sam joined the United States Navy. He also attended a farrier school, where Sam learned a trade that would lead him to one of his many passions of horse craftsmanship. Sam would have said that of all of his accomplishments, his family was his greatest. 

Sam married the love of his life, Mary Louise (Babe as he called her) on October 21, 1966.  Over the years they raised 7 children and traveled the U.S. having many exciting adventures together.  Sam was many things; a family man, engineer, horse farrier, partner of C&S Quarter Horses and volunteer of countless San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeos. 

Sam was a man not easily forgotten.  He was known for his love and knowledge of horses, his firm handshake, and his unmistakable cowboy grit.  Most of all, he was known for his compassionate heart and was admired and loved by many.  He will be greatly missed.

Samuel Clyde Tumey Jr. is preceded in death by his father, mother, 1 brother Walter Tumey, 2 sisters Francis Petrea, Anna Pellegran and a son Samuel Clyde Tumey III

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Louise Tumey, 3 sons Buddy Driver, Lester Tumey, David Tumey and 3 Daughters Sheri Tumey, Loree Millican and Evelyn Fuller and an abundance of grandchildren and great grandchildren, 1 brother Carl Tumey, 3 sisters Mary Florence Tumey, Claudia Kindle, Debbie Loftis. A host of nieces, nephews and his best horse friend, The Colonel.

A funeral Service will be held April 24, 2021 1pm at the Life Community Church 425 US Hwy 80 Sunnyvale, TX 75182

Mr. Charles Lewis

Mr. Charles Henry Lewis, born on January 1, 1933 in Terrell, Texas died on April 3, 2021 in a Mesquite Hospital.  Mr. Lewis is a long time resident of Terrell where he lived and owned a record shop in the city.  Mr. Lewis will be missed by his children and friends and other relatives to cherish his memories.

Mr. Donald Ray Pierson

1949 – 2021

Donald Ray Pierson was born on July 21, 1949 in Terrell, TX to the parentage of the late Ira Pierson Sr and Clide Baker Pierson. He married Alberta Edwards Pierson and they celebrated 46 years of marriage. To this union they share 6 children Natasha Nash, Katrina Salles, Donald Pierson (Miriam), Christopher Pierson (Stephanie), Marcus Stenline (Tanaia) and RaSean Davis.

He attended Burnett High School and was a proud graduate of the class of 1967. He exceeded in the classroom and was a member of the football and baseball team.

He has served as a faithfull member and actively participated in Sunday School at Greater McIntyre Chapel Baptist Church where he also served as Minister of Music for 23 years. He was also ordained as a deacon by Rev. Willie Willis. He also served as Minister of Music for New Caldonia Baptist Church for 17 years and was the leader of Faithfull Spiritual Singers for 10 years.

He leaves 4 sisters Christina Ward, Mary Stovall, Barbara Thomas (Jerry) of Dallas, Tx and Clidie Pierson of Terrell, Tx , and 1 Aunt Martha Harris; 23 grandchildren; Marquise Pierson, Marquale Pierson (Samantha) Marcus Stenline Jr, Jazmin Stenline, James Mayden Jr, Nicholas Pierson, Christopher Pierson, Jr, Re’Sean Davis Jr, Julie Pierson, Jared Mayden, Quran Stenline, Jalen Mayden, Ariyana Landingham- Stenline, ShaRiya Davis, Desiree Pierson, Taariq Landingham, Myles Nash, Taylan Stenline, Malachi Davis, Donald Pierson, Antonio Pierson, Melenna Pierson and Isabella Salles. 3 great grandchildren; Dominic Pierson, Dakota Pierson and Marcus Stenline III. 3 God daughters Dana Dabney Haynes, Stephanie Dye Nelson and Gena Adkins Lewis. A special brother Lake Charles Dye. A host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Mr. Timothy Mathew Rasor

Mr. Timothy M. Rasor was born February 22, 1958 and died on February 22, 2021.  Mr. Rasor was born in Lamar County Texas.  He Will be missed by family and friends.

Mr. Doyle Eugene Judkins

Mr. Doyle Judkins was born in Dallas, Texas on March 27, 1960 and died in Kaufman, Tx on February 24, 2021.  Mr. Judkins was a long time resident of Kaufman Co. and will be cherish by his Wife, and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Linzell Land

Linzell Land known as “Rabbit” was born on July 15, 1954 to the late Betty and Fred Land in Savanna, Georgia.  Linzell graduated from Burnett High School in Terrell, TX in 1972. After graduation he served in the United States Navy, for roughly 15 years. He achieved the rank of AO2 ( Aviation Ordanaceman 2nd Class.)  Later he worked an additional 15 years at VistaWall; where he was medically retired.  He’s proceeded in death by his parents, Betty & Fred “Pete” Land. His late nephew Stephen “Skee-Bo Land.

 He leaves behind his beloved four children, Tiffany Bursey( Kelvin), Cedar Hill, TX; Linzell Land, Dallas, TX. Olivia Taylor (Corey), Terrell, TX; De’Corian Land, Garland TX, and his dog Chloe.  His memory will be cherished by his grandkids: Kelvin Jr, Trevor Bursey, Ke’Mondric Russell, Za’Khyria Land, Jayden Jordan, Jayla, Da’Maiya and Jayce Taylor. His one and only great-grand daughter Sophia Bursey. He leaves behind 8 caring siblings, six sisters, Johnnie Mae, Betty, Judy, Carylon, Mary, Sandra and two brothers, Freddie & Frankie along several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
